Eh to be fair Finn's never been in a relationship before, and..let's be honest he had his heart broken before and having it broken like this is all the more painful for him.
Sure he made his mistakes, but doesn't EVERYONE in a relationship? Unfortunately he doesn't have too much guidance for these sorts of things. I mean sure there's Jake but...eh, Jake though him being his best friend doesn't give him good advice ALL the time, if anything some of his advice might be a bit confusing considering it was Finn's first serious relationship. Still though Finn though he may have been a jerk, he STILL recognized that he did something wrong and he STILL tried to make it up to her, again maybe not in the best way but at least he DID try to make things better.
